3 Ways to Enjoy Pizza Night for $20 or Less!

Friday nights (usually) mean pizza night at Wigglesworth Manor. Over the last year or so, we've had to make some pretty major adjustments to our family's budget,  including a cut on our pizza (takeout) spending. Luckily, we have found a way to still enjoy our pizza nights, without spending more than $20 (pre-tax)!

Here are our top 3 favorite ways to enjoy pizza night for $20 or less.

1. Take and Bake*- The last few times we've had pizza Friday, we picked up the Marketside 12" pizzas from Walmart. They only cost $5 a piece and we usually grab 2, which is plenty for our family of 4. We even end up with some leftover!

Total Cost- Just $10 if you grab 2 pizzas!

*We have also had the take and bake Mama Cozzi's pizzas from Aldi and enjoy those too. I have only seen these pizzas available in one size (large), so they are slightly more expensive than the pizzas from Walmart, but still less than $20 for a few of them.

2. Garlic Bread Pizzas- My oldest came up with this idea a few years ago. I have seen it recently in recipe books too, so apparently it is a pretty popular idea. All you need is a jar of your favorite sauce (depending where you shop, you can get this for under $1), shredded cheese (approx. $4), sliced frozen garlic bread (approx. $2), and your favorite toppings (we enjoy black olives and/or mini pepperoni, that usually costs us about $5 for both). Follow the directions on the box to heat the bread and when it's time to flip it over, be sure to add your toppings before returning to the oven. So simple, delicious, and extremely satisfying-2 GB pizzas/person has been more than enough for our family.

Total Cost: Just about $12-$15

3. Pizza Bagels- This one is such a nostalgia trigger for me. There are so many recipes online for pizza bagels, like this one, and it requires the same ingredients as the Garlic Bread pizzas (with bagels in place of the garlic bread) so you'll be spending approximately the same amount!

Total Cost: Just about $12-$15
